Last December, Playa de Las Américas, in the south of Tenerife, was the stage for one of the most prominent surf events in Europe: Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro. For nine days, this beach hosted surfers from all over the world in a festival full of competition, passion for the sport, and a unique atmosphere.
A Historic Event
The Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro has its roots in the 1970s when the breaks at this beach began to attract local, European, and American surfers. The famous “Spanish Left,” an exceptional left wave formed by the volcanic rocks of the area, became the epicenter of this sport in Tenerife. Today, this event not only celebrates the tradition of surfing but also promotes the European scene with high-level competitions.

An Iconic Surf Spot
Playa de Las Américas, located in the municipality of Arona, is recognized as one of the best surf destinations in Europe. Its combination of irregular reef breaks and the favorable weather conditions make it an ideal setting for both professional and amateur surfers.

- Swell: West and northwest directions, with sizes ranging from 2 to 12 feet

More Than a Sports Event
The festival not only attracted elite surfers but also hundreds of surf enthusiasts and tourists who enjoyed parallel activities, live music, and a vibrant atmosphere that highlighted the essence of the sport.
With more than 9,000 hours of surfing and 300 participants, Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro solidified its place as one of the most important events in the European surf calendar.
